Claudette Walker's "C Street" :

Chilling, exhaustively researched, and slyly humorous, Claudette Walker's "C Street" is a well-painted and entertaining spy service portrait that strikes all too close to the realities of corrupt governance in America. The corrupt government agents are painted real as the world and with twice the size ego, the settings are vivid and well-researched, and the heroine is a sympathetic, tragic, intensely human figure. A recommended read!

5-Star Review of "To Love The Rose"

Danielle Steel meets Tom Clancy... is how I describe this book to my friends who have not read it. To my enormous delight, I recently discovered Claudette Walker, now hot on the block of international political thrillers. Thank God "To Love The Rose" has a sequel, since I grew extremely attached to her characters, all of which were developed exquisitely. Claudette Walker's excellent sense of place fittingly took me back to some of my old haunts ... San Francisco, Washington D.C,, Florida, and New York City. Her depiction of the U.S. political climate, as well as the U.S. role on the world stage is spot on. "To Love The Rose" provides an insider's view of power, high finance, government and the people who live in these worlds. I am now reading Walker's second book, "C Street" with even greater amazement at her knowledge of global intrigue and high-level maneuvers. I have always believed that to pursue truth one must read fiction and there is much truth in this extraordinary author's romantic thriller. A BRILLIANT AUTHOR SHEDS A BRIGHT BEAM
INTO THE CENTER OF THIS TRIAL

When asked to write the postscript for this book, I knew it was an important story. Reading it makes me realize how right I was about the importance of this book. I also became aware of how much I did not know about the horrific death of this child and the judicial process that was to try her mother for the death. I walked away from reading this book with an understanding of how unpredictable our justice/jury system can be. From the media and shows like CSI, juries currently expect a great deal of forensic evidence such as DNA, fiber, strands of hair etc. However, such is rarely the case in a homicide. Furthermore, young missing children do not garner a great deal of news coverage, unless the media is focused on that particular child whose case then develops into a high profile one. It would behoove all of us to be more sensitive to and become more aware of those whose task it is to guard our most precious resources, our children.

Laura Schultz, Psychotherapist

"Speaking as one who has been there, this book gives a real feel for the action
both inside and outside the courtroom in the trial of a high-profile capital murder case."
David E. Siar, Esquire

"This is the type of book you can pick up and read, stop, read, and keep your interest all the way to the end. This is told by a mother and daughter. Fantastic... "

A book judging our Justice System with High recommendations! Excellent Read.

"Imagine the concentration, hard work, and pondering both Mother and Daughter have written about this well-known murder trial. The pondering over testimony, even choosing the Jurors - made me want more and more. Although this case in some minds has ended, it will never end in a mother or daughter's mind. The more you read the deeper you fall into the story you thought you knew. It isn't like hearing it while you are trying to tell your children to stop fighting, cooking dinner, or half listening while on a phone call - this book takes you into the head of a mother who had no care where her daughter was for thirty one days. It brings you into the FBI searching for evidence on her computer, how to kill someone, with both chemicals and instruments. It points out the lies, and the joy Casey was having with her boyfriend and imaginary friends. At times I was baffled by the Justice in our country when so much was up front - and the Jury in my eyes, one sided. It makes you wonder how any mother can be dancing up a storm while lying to her parents about the where abouts of her daughter and their only granddaughter. It makes you want to change the system, open the eyes of those who were chosen to judge the murder case of Casey Anthony. There has never been a better concept in my view of any other real life murder trial then that of Claudette Walker and her daughter Matrix Filia. With a sixth sense alone, and the insight of being a mother and grandmother my intuition has made its way to a conclusion. Now, don't let this outstanding, well written, and widely known case slip through your fingers - I know once you start reading, getting into the nitty gritty of the life of Casey Anthony, you too won't be able to place the book down. Congratulations on a book which should be read by families all across this land of ours. You never trust anyone - even your own daughter when a mother believes she is lying. Read it today."

Nancy Duci Denofio

"Claudette, my neighbor finished the Casey Anthony book and just could not stop talking about it. She loved that the trial was broken down so the lay person could understand what was going on. Anyway, her eyes usually hurt when she reads but with the Kindle I was able to make the font bigger so she for her she finished the book in record time. She just couldn't put it down."  ~ Linda Leipziger

The e-Book was excellent Claudette nice job.

This one intriguing book. I'm almost done reading it. Can't put it down once I start reading it. I might have been the only hold out. Really, hard to know once you hear the perspective of the Judge, the Prosecution and the sleazy Defense. Anyway, am almost finished, but Claudette you and your daughter did a fantastic job breaking things down for the lay people. Reading on, good night.

It was brilliant looking at this trial through the eyes of two individuals who were just describing the and explaining everything that was happening in the courtroom, with the Defense, Prosecutor and the Judge. Thanks for a very good and interesting read.

~Linda Leipziger

From sidebars to sideshows, this is "The Casey Anthony Murder Trial.”  A comprehensive look at the media, judicial system and more, eyes wide open. This is what most people never see, inside a murder trial. With forward by David E. Siar, Criminal Attorney and postscript by Laura Schultz, Psychotherapist.

Authors Claudette Walker and Matrix Filia are together for the first time in the writer’s den, sharing a mother daughter bond that has spanned nearly 40 years, a concept as old as time.  Their unique perspective and the unfortunate commonality of this tragedy inspired a comprehensive look at the trial of Casey Anthony for the murder of her daughter, Caylee.

With all the elements of an American tragedy, complete with the elevation of the mother to celebrity status, Casey Anthony stands accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter.  Caylee last seen with her mother went unreported missing for 31 days.  A massive worldwide search ensued, before the discovery of Caylee’s remains in a murky swamp six months later.

Both the lawyers and witnesses seem to cross the lines between fact and fiction during this spectacle of horrors. The media covered the arrest of the mother and for the first time an American jury selection is televised, live from our home of Pinellas, Florida.  From selection to sentencing, this is a comprehensive interpretation of a first-degree murder trial and our American Justice system, for good or bad.  The judge, lawyers, evidence, jury, costs, media, Facebook, Twitter, verdict and sentencing are all part of the “Circus of the Century”. This is not a verbatim transcript, but a keyhole look at what happened in courtroom 23.

”Happy families are all alike… every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”
   Leo Tolstoy

The plane flew from Washington to Geneva, Switzerland. We arrived at 2:03 AM, GMT + one. It was a bone-chilling –25°C. A limousine took the participants directly to Hotel Les Nations, where a suite was waiting. Steven Dahl scanned the rooms for listening devices, and then the meeting commenced.

“The Geneva meeting opened at 3:20 AM, local time. Steven Dahl controlled the meeting.... Dahl's soliloquy sounded uncomfortably like treasonous talk. Dahl continued, and assuaged our fears. 'You may think that this sounds like treason, but our task is twofold.... Our first task is to develop the method for controlling the technology. Our second task, our ultimate goal, is to develop and implement protections to avoid such an attack. Our mandate is as patriotic as apple pie.' The tension that had developed in the room just as suddenly dissolved. I will not pretend I did not know the truth....”

“The Casey Anthony Murder Trial” is the complete trial for history preservation. It is not a creative endeavor, since we would never chose to create this kind of monster. It is to the reader to judge the actions of the lawyers, witnesses and the American legal system handling and verdict in this horrific case. A mother tried for the murder of her toddler daughter, Caylee. It is based on the complete real time trial, written in a readable form. It is a big book, and we believe as close as you will get to a readable court transcript of the courtroom actions. Because a murder appeal is not pending, no complete court transcript is expected, as the cost could easily exceed $50,000 and would be in a most unreadable form for the non lawyer.  This has been written to cover the entire trial, yet offer the reader insight into the actions of the legal system, for good or bad.

SAMPLE PAGES FROM C STREET

“Solomon M. Rosenberg, CIA, December 27, 1998, Sarasota, Florida: I hereby state this as my deathbed declaration. My diagnosis is terminal, inoperable lung cancer. My treatment in New York seems to have extended my time, but I do not know how much longer I will live. Although I have many more stories to document, this one is the most significant of all, because it details a plan that has the greatest risk of changing the future of the world. This plan is so far-reaching that I cannot risk failing to document it. As with each of the tapes, I will begin with a preamble, since each tape must stand alone, in the event of destruction of the others. The listener needs to understand some background information.

“It all began on February 9, 1963, at Jerome L. Greene Hall of Columbia University – It was my senior year at Columbia Law. I was deep in thought about the International Treaties lecture I had just attended. While I was walking alone near the large bronze lion that stood in front of Havemeyer Hall, a man in a gray tweed suit and gray Fedora hat approached me. ‘Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the Sacred Cow restaurant?’ Being a native New Yorker, I knew the restaurant well and was happy to oblige him with directions. As I began to speak, he interrupted me, ‘Mr. Rosenberg, my name is Meier Finch and I am with the CIA. I would be pleased if you would join me for lunch.’

“I was stunned by the serious look on his face, and I asked him what he wanted from me. Mr. Finch replied, ‘The United States Government would like to offer you a position when you graduate.’ I told him that I had already accepted an associate position with a law firm, so I really did not need a job. He told me that the government position was in addition to the job that I had already accepted, and that it would not interfere with my practice of law. Pleased, proud, and innocent, I accepted Meier Finch’s invitation for lunch.

“We walked together in silence until we were just off the campus grounds. A limousine pulled up beside us. Meier quickly opened the door and invited me to step inside the car. As we got into the car, Meier told me that the position would not begin until after I passed the bar examination. That ride forever changed the course of my life. The limousine did not take us to the restaurant, but it did take me to lunch at a Manhattan apartment on Fifth Avenue. Meier told me it would be my apartment at no cost while I studied for the bar exam, and for as long as I chose to practice law in New York. I knew it was only a block or so away from the firm where I would be practicing, and it was a great apartment in a great area. That seemed a deal too good to pass up. That day I took an oath of secrecy and signed my life away.

“Perfect,” Jacqueline thought. A red silk dress and red heels was all that she would wear. After all, Enrique said she should feel free in Costa Rica...

“I ask no forgiveness for my work on C Street. Men like me believe God is our judge, or more honestly stated, we believe we are gods.”

Jacqueline flipped open her laptop computer and did a search for the remaining men of B6. She found that two of the men that Rose had named on the tape, Charles Hallwick and Melvin Lord, appeared to be still alive and involved in some activity overseas. Jacqueline knew what part of the government the two were in — it was the CIA. However, it appeared Stephen Dahl and Meier Finch simply did not exist. She could find no reference to the men in government, social or college records.

With her GPS, she found the hand-drawn map from Rose's package easy to follow. The map gave detailed degree and decimal coordinates; Latitude/Longitude: +33° 55' 44.78", -116° 37' 29.86"; Decimal: 33.929106, -116.624961?.

It was brilliant looking at this trial through the eyes of two individuals who were just describing them and explaining everything that was happening in the courtroom, with the Defense, Prosecutor and the Judge. Thanks for a very good and interesting read.
